Well Abandonment
Oftentimes, an older well can be taken out of commission. When a home owner takes this step it is never good to leave a well bore open, and it is required by law that it be abandoned. It should be abandoned to ensure that no ground contaminates enter into the old well bore and, sooner or later, contaminate ground water aquifers below or around it. It is a good idea to close it up so that no one can throw foreign objects down the hole. This is a service that can only be offered by a master well driller, and at Wayne’s Water N Wells we have just that. There are many different abandonment techniques that can be used but only one is the right way. Grout must displace the water from the bottom up, and this can only be done by placing tremie lines to the bottom and pumping a grout fill from the bottom up.
